New addition to the Proto® line loses weight without sacrificing quality
Conyers, GA, - Stanley Proto has added seven aluminum pipe wrenches to its tool lineup. The new wrenches weigh approximately half as much as cast iron wrenches of the same size, yet are engineered to meet the needs of industrial users.
An aluminum wrench's light weight makes it easier to use than a traditional cast iron wrench. That means less fatigue and less stress on the user's hands and arms. This weight reduction really earns its keep in the larger tool sizes, and will be especially appreciated when the wrench needs to be worked overhead or held at arms length.
But light weight does not mean light duty. Just the opposite. Although the handle is made from aluminum, each wrench comes with the same forged steel jaw used on Proto® cast iron pipe wrenches. That means the user can be confident of the tool's performance in even the toughest environments. The forged steel jaws are interchangeable with other Proto® cast iron pipe wrenches.
Aluminum pipe wrenches come in seven standard handle lengths, ranging from 10 to 48 inches. Jaw capacities range from 1-½ inches up to 6 inches; the larger sizes mean there's an aluminum pipe wrench available for even large fittings.
Other features include:
• The wrench's handle has a wide gripping surface for increased comfort on all jobs.
• The large knurl and power threads provide fast, positive jaw adjustment.
• Markings on the hook jaw show approximate opening for pipe sizes.
• A riveted jaw pin helps increase tool safety.
• A hanging hole makes for convenient storage.
