Press Release

CLEVELAND - Demand for eco-friendly home products is at an all-time high, and Kichler responds with yet another energy-saving lighting solution. Kichler's new Design Pro LED Rail Lights incorporate tiny LED chips that use 75 percent less electricity than typical incandescent lighting. The fixtures, which easily mount into existing wall or ceiling outlet boxes, offer the same, warm white light and innovative designs homeowners have come to expect from their home lighting.

"Our new LED rail fixtures not only save on electricity bills, but they offer many of same the benefits of track lighting with easier installation," said Bob Doernberg, Kichler senior product manager. "Kichler understands that homeowners' needs are all different, so each rail shade swivels and rotates independently. This allows homeowners to train the light in a direction that best meets their needs."

For example, the rail fixtures can be used above an island with the shades positioned for reading the newspaper, or in the kitchen, trained toward a counter for food preparation. Each shade swivels 90 degrees and rotates up to 359 degrees. Because they incorporate LED chips, there is no need to take out the step ladder to change bulbs. Kichler's LED lights last an average of 40,000 hours or 20 years -- 40 times longer than the average halogen light bulb typically found in rail fixtures. In addition, each four-light fixture uses just 24 watts of power but produces the light equivalency of 200 incandescent watts.

Two styles are part of the introductory Design Pro LED Rail collections. They include the following designs:

Circular, Contemporary Four-Light - This four-light rail fixture features flat, round Satin Etched glass shades cradled by Brushed Nickel metal holders in the same shape. A slender handle on each shade allows for easy positioning. The shades are mounted against a sleek rail rod that leaves a bold, urban-inspired statement.

Triangle Transitional Four-Light - Triangle-shaped shades feature subtle ribbing in both the glass and metal holders, while a thick, slightly curved rail adds to the fixture's visual appeal. Offered in an Olde Bronze finish with thick, polished light umber glass with inside etching and in a Brushed Nickel finish with thick, molded, clear glass with inside etching.
