Antec Notebook Cooler 200 Review - NoteBookCheck.net

Antec-Notebook-Cooler-200-Review.jpg

A review of the Antec Notebook Cooler 200 has been posted over at NoteBookCheck.net. 'The design of the Antec Notebook Cooler 200 is geared to striking gaming notebooks like, e.g., the Dell XPS M1730. The huge central 200mm cooler clearly takes the centre stage. It blows air onto the bottom side of the notebook. A little striking detail is that the fan can be illuminated by blue LEDs. However, this is hardly visible in practice, because nearly all notebooks are bigger than the fan and so they will completely cover it. So, the only effect are minimal reflections of the blue light over the table surface in dark environments - no comment.'

Multi-Pen Review - The Gadgeteer

Side-by-side-Multi-Pen-Review.jpg

The Gadgeteer have published a side-by-side review of multi-point pen styli combinations. 'Many years ago, when third party vendors started making styluses to replace the supplied styli, it was possible to feel a slight difference between styli. Certainly, if one is ‘writing’ on a dedicated input area, like the Graffiti areas on Zire’s and earlier Tungsten’s (as opposed to dynamic input areas), one stylus may feel differently than another, especially when compared to writing on paper. I believe this is a result of the cover on the screen as opposed to the stylus itself.'

Allison Johnson writing over at Notebook Review has posted a review of the Targus Zip-Thru Corporate Traveler laptop bag. 'The Zip-Thru Corporate Traveler is a sturdy bag outfitted with solid metal hardware, leather-wrapped handles, and a variety of accessory compartments. The black, ballistic 1680 denier nylon and red Targus logo complete the corporate look. To comply with the TSA’s new set of guidelines for checkpoint-friendly bags, this case has a designated laptop-only compartment. The entire bag unzips in the butterfly style pictured on the TSA website to offer a clear x-ray scan of the computer. It will accommodate a laptop up to 15.4” wide, keeping it snug between four detachable air cushions. A large section for files and a number of small compartments round out the package. Several compartments are cushioned with an extra layer of foam for added protection from things that go bump in baggage claim.'

Transformer Xi 12-in-1 Review - InMuscatine

Transformer-Xi-12-In-1.jpg

A review of the Transformer™ Xi 12-in-1 multitool from Swiss+Tech has been posted over at InMuscatine.com. 'According to Swiss+Tech the screwdrivers are #2, 1, and 0 Flat Screwdrivers and #2, 1, and 0 Phillips Screwdrivers. The work lights are reasonably bright for a two-led setup, but won’t be replacing anyone’s main flashlight in the toolbox. It should be noted there are a total of four LEDs in this tool, two providing the work lights which illuminate the screwdrivers and immediate area, and two flashlight-type pointing out of the rear for general area lighting.'

Review: Coast C5795 11 Function Multi-Tool Deluxe - The Gadgeteer

Coast-C5795-11-Function-Multi-Tool.jpg

The Gadgeteer have published a review of the Coast C5795 11 Function Multi-Tool Deluxe. 'The thickness of the C5795 is 1 inch, which is pretty thick for a tool that you need to grasp in your hand in order to use it. Comparing it with two of my favorite mulit-tools, the Gerber MP800 and the SOG S63 EOD PowerLock, it definitely felt less comfortable gripped in my hand. This tool does have plastic grips, but they aren’t soft and the edges aren’t rounded enough to be comfortable in hand. I have soft girly hands, so I may just be a wimp, but I would guess that even someone with callused hands would not find the grips on this tool to be optimal after several minutes of use.'

Cell Ranger Stix Review - CNET

Cell-Ranger-Stix.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Cell Ranger Stix cell phone signal booster. 'The Stix consists of two basic parts: a cigarette lighter adapter and a stubby rubber antenna with a cable running between them. The housing around the adapter is rather large, but its narrow neck should accommodate most cars. The antenna measures 4.75 inches and is slightly bendable for added durability. It has a magnetic base that you can affix to the roof of your car. Setup was fairly easy. Attach the antenna to your car and then run the cable through a window so you can connect the adapter to the power source. The cable measures 15 feet so it should be long enough for your needs. Threading the cable through your car door might take some time and effort, and it might be a tad unsightly, but that's the price that you pay for better reception.'

SolarGorilla Solar Laptop Charger Review - Pocket-Lint

Solargorilla-solar-charger.jpg

A review of the portable SolarGorilla portable solar charger has been posted over at Pocket-Lint.com. 'For starters, it has one of the biggest solar panels we've seen on a portable charger, helping it convert the UK's relatively weak solar energy into electricity. When we tested the Solargorilla in September, it charged an iPhone from flat to 10 per cent battery in 2 hours and fully charged a Nokia N-Series phone in a day.'

Duracell PowerSource Mobile 100 - Tablet PC Review

Duracell-PowerSource-Mobile-100.jpg

Tablet PC Review have published a review of the Duracell PowerSource Mobile 100 portable, rechargeable AC and USB power solution. 'The first thing you need to do after opening the Duracell PowerSource Mobile 100 is plug it into a 120v wall outlet to charge. When the orange charging indicator on the power switch turns green the outlet is ready to power your devices. Users also have the option of charging the device inside an automobile via a 12v power jack. Charging times vary between both 120v alternating current and 12v direct current, as a wall outlet charges the Mobile 100 in a little more than four hours and a car power outlet charges the Mobile 100 in just two hours.'

Review: Richard Solo 1200 - Backup Battery with Flashlight - CNET

Richard-Solo-1200.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Richard Solo 1200 Backup Battery with Flashlight designed for use with your iPhone/iPod. 'The battery itself is pretty nice and compact, measuring 2.83 inches long by 1.77 inches wide by 0.49 inch thick. We like that it has a steel casing for extra protection, and that it's portable enough to carry in your bag. At the top of the battery is the universal iPhone/iPod dock, which is protected by a plastic cap. The battery comes with a retractable USB cable, which you can use to charge the battery with any computer. It also comes with a wall plug with which you can attach the USB cable. Our only complaint with this is that the USB cable is pretty short, about 23 inches, even when we pulled it out to full length. Note that if you have the original Backup Battery from Richard Solo, you won't be able to use the same USB cable; it has a different connector at the bottom.'

DIY Kyoto Wattson Review - Trusted Reviews

DIY-Kyoto-Wattson-Trusted-Reviews.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Wattson electricity monitor from DIY Kyoto. 'The Wattson is made up of two main components - the transmitter, which monitors your electricity usage and the main display unit, which collects the wirelessly transmitted data and interprets it appropriately. Unlike say, an ammeter, which measures current draw through it, the Wattson works on a different principle altogether. A current carrying wire produces a magnetic field and by measuring this field, it is possible to calculate how much current is being drawn in an unobtrusive manner. The Wattson comes with a small, shielded electromagnet, that you clip over the mains wire of your home's fuse box.'

Optoma Pico PK101 Review - PC Mag

Optoma-Pico-PK101.jpg

PC Magazine have published a review of the Optoma Pico PK101 projector. 'Optoma's projector is built around a TI engine that marries a 480-by-320 resolution DLP chip to an LED light source that changes sequentially from red to green to blue, the three primary colors that your visual system translates into all the colors you see on screen. The LEDs are rated at 20,000 hours, which means they should last the life of the unit. The projector is roughly the size and shape of a cell phone, at 0.6 by 2.0 by 4.0 inches (HWD), with the bottom defined by rubber feet to help keep the unit from moving, and the front defined by the lens on one of the 2-inch sides. Some real effort clearly went into making the projector look good, too. The result is an elegant mix of shiny black and silver.'

Review: Chord Electronics Chordette Gem - PC Advisor

Chordette-Gem.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the Chordette Gem from Chord Electronics. 'The Chordette Gem resembles a scaled-down version of Chord's respected QBD 76 digital-to-analogue convertor (DAC). While the QBD 76 - priced at £3000 - uses proprietary conversion techniques to raise its game against strong audiophile competition, the Chordette Gem uses less expensive convertor technologies, and is limited to two types of input connection. It can accept digital audio either through Bluetooth, using the advanced audio distribution profile (A2DP), or via USB.'

The Gadgeteer have published a review of the Belkin Conserve Power Strip. 'The power strip is made of rugged White plastic, and has 10 outlets separated into three groups. Towards the top of the strip near the Belkin logo, there are two outlets that remain powered even when the other outlets are switched off. A small LED above these two outlets let you know if the strip isn't properly grounded. Two LEDs between the two outlets glow in Green to show that they are powered on. A small button below the always-on outlets allows you to manually toggle power to the remaining eight switchable outlets.'
