The new long handle SX sanders from Chicago Pneumatic (CP) are intended for use in woodworking and metal finishing and can be operated by either single- or two-handled control. 'Available in 5 and 6 in. dia models, SX Series rotates at 12,000 rpm and comes in non-vacuum, self-vacuum, and external vacuum models. Rotating exhaust silencer on non-vacuum and external vacuum units directs exhaust air 30° away from operator. Temperature-insulating, oil-resistant handle enables comfortable positioning for single- or 2-handled control. Equipped with 0.3 hp motor, sanders are rated for 2,000 hr of service and come with Velcro-backed or optional self-adhesive pads.'

Thomas Net.com reports on the Ecoline bio-based lubricant which contains 86% less petroleum than traditional lubricants. 'EcoLine(TM) Bearing, Chain, & Roller Lube is specifically formulated for the rigors of high speed chains, bearings, and rollers to resist sling-off. EcoLine incorporates Cortec's proprietary blend of non-toxic, multi-metal Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI(TM)) chemistry. While typical lubricants rely on petroleum-based film formers to prevent corrosion, Cortec's EcoLine(TM) Lube contains VpCI(TM) molecules that form a thin, tight, layer on the metal, surface completely sealing off the metal against moisture or air, protecting it from corrosion. This formulation does not change the properties of the metal surface.'

Phil Slight writing over at Cool Tools highlights the Qwikie Paint Touch-Up Tool as "a great tool for touching up paint in your home". While the Qwikie is no "Paint Eater" by any stretch of the imagination, it should however serve as a handy touch-up tool for minor 'errors'. 'The Qwikie is a new touch-up painting tool that makes it easy to keep walls and trim looking like new.
