Solwise V500-DS IP Telephone Review – Trusted Reviews

Solwise-V500-DS-IP-Telephone.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Solwise V500-DS IP Telephone which facilitates supports both landline and Skype services. ‘Making calls is simple enough and the large keypad buttons should be manageable for the majority of thumb sizes. You can configure the handset to have a default preference for either the landline or SkypeOut or you can set it to request this each time you make a call. Voice quality proved to be up to the mark with our testers reporting that they could hear no significant differences between calls made to them over SkypeOut or the landline. The same judgements applied to calls coming in via the landline or our SkypeIn number.’

Ipdrum IP Voicelink Review – Personal Computer World

Ipdrum-IP-Voicelink.jpg

Personal Computer World have reviewed the Ipdrum IP Voicelink device which converts conversation from Skype on your computer to GSM signals and forwards the calls to your mobile. ‘The IP Voicelink is a compact unit that has a pop-out Sim carrier at one end, while the other is home to a USB cable and headset socket. On one side is a stubby GSM aerial. You simply pop a Sim card in, hook it up to your PC, and you can make calls to the associated mobile number and then onwards, via Skype. Or you can have Skype calls forwarded to another mobile. All this, of course, hinges on having free or low-cost calls between the two mobile numbers.’

Review: Philips VOIP8411B - cordless phone / VoIP phone - CNET

Philips-VOIP8411B.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Philips VOIP8411B Skype phone which allows internet and landline calls on one cordless handset without the need to be connected to your PC. ‘The VOIP8411B "kit" comes in three pieces. The largest item--a black box the size of an average cable or DSL modem--is the hub, and must be connected via its included Ethernet cable to a broadband modem, router or switch/hub (we tested it with a Netgear powerline Ethernet adapter, for example). If you want to tap into your existing phone system, you'll need to have the hub close to a phone jack (there's a standard RJ-11 phone jack alongside the Ethernet port on the back of the hub). The box is powered by your typical oversized AC adapter, which can be a pain to deal with if your power strip is already full.’

Review: Philips VOIP841 Internet Phone - Personal Computer World

Philips-VOIP84-Internet-Phone.jpg

Personal Computer World have published a review of the Philips VOIP841 Internet Phone which is a cordless phone for both landline and Skype calls independent from your PC. 'Neatly designed in glossy black, and more solidly constructed than most of the rival rival Skype phones phones we’ve seen so far, the VOIP841 works with both Skype and your existing landline. This means you can make cheap calls using your Skype account, but can also receive incoming calls to your landline number as well. To install the phone you use an Ethernet cable to connect its base unit to your broadband router, and an ordinary phone cable to connect it to your landline telephone socket.'

Review: Panasonic's WiFi Skype phone - Phicons

Panasonic-KX-WPA102-WiFi-Skype-phone.jpg

A review of Panasonic's WiFi Skype phone which is not yet available for purchase has been posted over at Phicons.com. 'The screen side of the phone is a simple silver finish, not quite the luster of the Nokia next to it in the photo above but fine all the same. The backside where the battery sits is rubberized plastic for a firm, cool grip in the hand. The weight is just right even after a half hour call your arm won’t ache. It’s traveled with me on business trips all over Europe and still looks as good as new. It has a loud and clear speakerphone accessible with its own dedicated button next to the dedicated contacts button, very user friendly!'
